Technology

PHH’s technology vision is to enable “effortless vehicle and driver productivity.” This vision is becoming reality, as our clients benefit from our technology advances.

Telematics help reduce accident rates

Through use of PHH Onboard®, PHH’s telematics-powered service, an equipment distributor significantly reduced speeding in its fleet. The technology was instrumental in helping the company enforce its speeding policy, and as a result has seen a remarkable decrease in its accident rate.

During the company’s first three months on the PHH Onboard program, 61% of its fleet vehicles had at least one speed policy violation per month, and the average “speeding time” per vehicle per month was 220 minutes.

For the most recent three months on the program, the percent of the fleet that had a speed policy violation was reduced by two-thirds to 21%, and the average speeding time per vehicle per month was 22 minutes, or a 90% reduction. Consequently, this company experienced a 55% reduction in its accidents per million miles driven, down from 6.7 during the first quarter to 3.0 in the most recent quarter.

Innovative technology platform streamlines vehicle ordering

As part of PHH’s North American service delivery strategy, we recently launched a completely new vehicle ordering system based on a common technology platform for both the United States and Canada.

Developed and implemented first in PHH’s Canadian operations, the new system utilizes leading-edge technology and will enable fully integrated ordering services for our North American clients after all phases are implemented in 2010.

The innovative system dramatically reduces the time for vehicle orders to be placed with motor companies.

This North American vehicle ordering implementation is linked to a new driver level ordering tool accessed through PHH InterActive® for Drivers that breaks new ground in its approach to vehicle ordering. This state-of-the-art technology, currently available in Canada, allows fleet drivers to order their pre-authorized company cars and trucks online using a simpler, visually-enhanced, information-rich system. The tool will be implemented in the US in 2010.

Information technology system enhances productivity

A client operates a fleet of nearly 850 vehicles, including trucks, power units, and trailers located throughout the US and Canada. The fleet manager also handles numerous other tasks for the company, such as DOT compliance and managing subcontractors. He has only one assistant to help him accomplish all that needs to be done.

To meet this challenge, this manager has become a “power user” of PHH InterActive®, PHH’s award-winning online information management system. He has customized his PHH InterActive homepage so that all the key information that’s important to him is easily accessible from one screen. Using the application, he can see the status of his fleet, check on accidents and vehicle repairs and transact business online.

The various dashboards make it easy to get summarized information immediately in areas such as fleet maintenance, accident management, used vehicle sales and more.

He finds it easy to access his fleet information in both the US and Canada, calling the global capabilities “phenomenal.” And PHH InterActive has made it easy and quick to put together reports for senior management.

These are just a few of the many situations where we've helped our clients achieve exceptional results. Contact us to hear more.
