PHH enhances fuel exception reporting for improved fraud detection

PHH has enhanced its fuel exception reporting to help clients in Canada reduce costs through improved fraud detection. The new capabilities also make it easier for clients to enforce their fuel policies so they can maximize fuel efficiency.
Features and benefits of PHH’s enhanced fuel exception reporting include:
- Timely data. PHH now receives daily transaction files from key suppliers, including Esso, Shell, PetroCanada, Chevron and others.
- Data consolidation. The suppliers who have agreed to contribute data to PHH represent 80% of total fuel spend, allowing us to consolidate a critical mass of transaction detail into one data warehouse.
- Leading edge reporting. PHH is providing a new Fuel Alert Report identifying six key fraud detection criteria – including incorrect fuel type, multiple purchases and geographic location of the point of purchase, and more – to help you identify suspicious activity faster and monitor compliance to your fuel policy.
- Time stamped transactions. All daily transaction data will now include a time stamp for highly accurate monitoring of purchase behavior.
All of the enhancements noted above are available now. Within the next few months, we plan to provide nine more reports as well as a new alert based on vehicle tank size. More fuel vendors will also be added to the list of those providing daily transaction data. Also forthcoming is the capability to proactively push alerts with action codes to notify clients automatically when an exception has occurred.
