Connecticut extends expiration dates/periods of validity for DMV-issued credentials
September 01, 2011
The state of Connecticut announced today that Governor Dannel Malloy approved the extension of the expiration date or period of validity of registrations, licenses, permits, certificates or other forms or credentials issued by the Department of Motor Vehicles. This action is being taken because recent severe weather conditions in the state resulted in prolonged and widespread power outages.
Please note:
- This extension applies only to those credentials that expire on or after August 27, 2011.
- The extension will continue through September 12, 2011.
The state also announced that law enforcement personnel would be informed of the extension, and that statutory late fees would be waived for motor vehicle transactions involving credentials affected by the extension (including late fees for emissions inspections due on or after August 27, 2011).
