California registrations currently on hold

The governor of the state of California has vetoed the proposed changes to the registration renewal process. The proposal is still a work-in-progress at this point and no final decisions have been made.
Currently, registrations for California cannot be renewed, and no specific date for renewal has been announced.
The state of California is allowing a grace period of 30 days from the time the renewal applications are sent out.
