North Carolina personal property tax to be added to yearly registration renewal

Changes to the ad valorem tax in Georgia

November 20, 2012

The 2012 Georgia General Assembly recently announced new legislation that affects vehicle purchases in the state of Georgia. Effective March 1, 2013, House Bill 386 removes the sales tax and the annual ad valorem tax on newly-purchased vehicles. It replaces these taxes with a new title tax of 6.5% in 2013 and 6.75% in 2014. Here’s what you need to know:

North Carolina tax, registration systems to merge

November 20, 2012

Effective July 2013, the North Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles will merge vehicle property tax and annual registrations into one bill. You can read more about the change here.

PHH is prepared for Hurricane Sandy

Hurricane Sandy continues to move toward the Northeast and is expected to bring extreme weather conditions over the next few days. Weather forecasters are predicting rapidly deteriorating conditions for Monday and possibly Tuesday. Due to this unprecedented storm, the PHH management team has decided to close our Sparks, Maryland office on Monday, October 29.

PHH recommendations for Isaac preparation

The National Weather Service is forecasting Tropical Storm Isaac to affect the northern Gulf Coast states. If you and/or your drivers are in the projected path of the potential hurricane, PHH recommends following these steps:

Washington to increase MVR fee

Effective October 1, 2012, the Washington State MVR fee will increase from $10.00 to $13.00 for a 5-year record.

Ontario announces licence fee increases

August 21, 2012

The Ontario Ministry of Transportation has announced an increase in the amount of several fees, including vehicle licence validation, new driver’s licence and renewals, and driver’s licence replacement fees.
