Pontiac Vibe accelerator pedal recall update

Following is a brief update from General Motors on the 2009-2010 Pontiac Vibes involved in the Toyota accelerator pedal recall. The Vibe and the Toyota Matrix were designed and engineered by Toyota.

• Repair parts are being secured and a distribution plan is being determined. Fleet requirements will be a part of that plan.  
• Parts will be at dealers the week of February 8th.
• Repair procedures are expected the week of February 8th. These will be communicated to GM dealers.
• Repairs can be performed by Pontiac dealers.  In the event that a Pontiac dealer is not convenient, any GM dealer is authorized to perform the repair.

Note: PHH has been in touch with all of our clients whose fleets include Vibes, and we’re working with GM to ensure that these vehicles are identified and repaired.
