Ford announces plans for full-size Transit van

Ford Motor Company has announced that it will add to its lineup a North American version of its popular European full-size Transit commercial van.
Production of this van is slated to begin in 2013 at the Kansas City plant. No further details about specs or production are available at this time. The smaller Transit Connect that is produced in Turkey will continue to be produced.
Ford also stated that the Econoline will continue to be built, with some bodies being offered for the next decade. In addition, the automaker said it will end production of its E-Series vans at its Avon Lake, Ohio plant. Ford said variations of the E-Series will continue to be available through “most of the decade.”
