Chrysler expected to recall certain Dodge Ram vehicles
July 19, 2011
Chrysler is expected to announce a recall on certain Dodge Ram vehicles manufactured and sold between 2008 and 2011. The recall is due to a potentially dangerous issue in the steering system. The left rod ball stud may fracture. This condition tends to occur during low-speed parking lot-type maneuvers when the driver is making a tight turn.
At this time, Chrysler has not provided PHH with an official list of impacted VINs; however, we are working to identify units that could possibly be impacted. In the interim, for more details visit the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration website.
If you have an immediate concern, you may take your vehicle to a Dodge dealer for inspection. If your vehicle has a defective part that must be replaced, you must pay for the repair since the recall has not been officially announced. If your vehicle is covered under the recall, PHH will seek reimbursement on your behalf.
Once the recall is officially announced, the driver will receive notification directly from Chrysler.
PHH will provide additional details as they become available.
