EDF Climate Corp helps PHH reduce energy use

Back in 2008, PHH joined the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA’s) Climate Leaders program to formally demonstrate our commitment to the environment. After conducting a company-wide inventory of our energy usage, we set an aggressive goal of a 12% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions by 2014. 

That means we’re looking at everything – fleet vehicle emissions (which we’ve already offset), kilowatt hours, refrigeration solutions, HVAC systems – even as far as putting pc monitors into sleep mode when not in use for a period of time.

To help us look for new energy saving ideas, PHH is participating in an intern program through the Environmental Defense Fund. We are fortunate to have Jeremy Dommu, EDF Climate Corp fellow, to help us out over the summer in our Sparks, Maryland building. Check out his blog to read about his efforts and experiences at PHH.
