Ford fleet preview
June 11, 2010
Gary Anderson, PHH Arval Senior Vice President, Business Development attended the Ford Fleet Preview earlier this week in Detroit. Here are a few takeaway points he has to share from the conference:
- Very well attended with PHH clients and prospects – maybe the best attendance of all three motor company previews
- Attendees were very upbeat and represented a wide cross section of industries – cars and trucks
- Gearing up for a more normal vehicle replacement routine seemed to be top of mind with everyone
- Ford continues to impress with a good business/financial plan and story
- Ford's product set continues to be very well suited to commercial fleet operations – cars and trucks, commercial and government fleets represent 30% of their U.S. sales
- Toured the Rouge Factory facility where they build F Series trucks – very state of the art from a technology and environmental standpoint.
Here’s a summary from Jim Spellissy, PHH Arval Vice President, Business Development who attended the fleet preview as well:
Six PHHers (Linda Tiberi, MaryAnn Moeri, Bill Cieslak, Gary Anderson, Jonathan Culp, Jim Spellissy) attended the annual Ford show held on June 7th and 8th in Dearborn, Michigan.
Events included a tour of the Rouge Factory to show how Fords are built, along with a ride and drive showcasing the new Ford Fiesta and other models as part of the 2011 lineup. We also attended a “welcome reception” at the Henry Ford Museum – a must see for anyone traveling to Detroit on business or vacation.
The Business meeting held on Tuesday, June 8th included presentations from Mark Fields, Ford's President of the Americas, Kevin Koswick, Director of North American fleet, and other executives from Ford who discussed their strategic objectives and focused on quality, safety and green initiatives.
PHH had approximately 20 clients in attendance as well as other partner suppliers – so it was a great opportunity for us to network.
The meeting was informative, well organized, and showcased the strength of the Ford brand and their appreciation of their fleet partnerships
