A lot has been written on ways to reduce fuel use and emissions for car fleets. And the EPA SmartWay program has done some excellent work on reviewing technologies that reduce fuel use and emissions from tractor trailers. But many of our clients have also requested a good comprehensive source of information on opportunities for medium duty trucks. However, I noticed that this kind of information had been difficult to find.
So PHH and Environmental Defense Fund (EDF) researched the issues and opportunities and pulled together the results in a recently released white paper. Included in the paper are strategies and technologies that help reduce fuel use as well as a number of examples of fleets that are leading the way in this arena.
If you have medium duty trucks in your fleet, I encourage you to download the white paper. In addition, we would like to hear about what you are doing to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in your fleet. Our hope is that by sharing best practices, we can have a significant impact on the environment.
