Fleet Optimizer™ is PHH's innovative, proprietary product for evaluating your total fleet costs. It assists in determining optimal equipment replacement strategies and providing unique financial, tax-deferred solutions. Fleet Optimizer works in concert with Logic Lease™ to help you understand how to get the most value from each truck or piece of equipment. It’s a valuable tool in evaluating the best way to spec, acquire, finance, operate, and dispose of new equipment. This complex operational analysis identifies the "sweet spot" for your equipment replacement cycle. The "sweet spot" is the point in time or mileage at which it is more cost effective to replace the unit than keep it operating. It is complex to find that point and even more difficult to act upon the information. Most vehicle leases are based on fixed terms in years. Equipment is often returned before all paid-for miles/hours have been used or after major maintenance and repair costs have been incurred. As equipment ages, its annual operational and maintenance costs increase. However, current accounting and management practices that view operating costs on a life-to-date basis rather than on an annual basis obscure the rising costs (see Life to Date vs. Period Annual C.P.M).
